All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy...these are some other things I get up to
Running
After a long day in the lab, there is nothing better than hitting the pavement. The running around State College is great - there are lots of nice trails through the forests to make those long runs more interesting. More importantly, there are some great people to run with who seem not to complain too much when I talk about pteropods!
Travel
One of the advantages of doing grad school in a different country than you grew up in is that there are so many new things to see. I never miss an opportunity to get out there and explore!
Some photos from my travels to Volcanoes National Park, HI, Roanoke Islands, NC, Santa Barbara, CA, Shenandoah National Park, VA, the Washington Monument, DC, Canoeing in Saginaw, MI, Flat Irons, CO, Sleeping Bear Dunes, MI, Chincoteague Island, VA, and the sunset over the harbour in Madison, WI
Cycling
The advantage of living in rural Pennsylvania is that you can get out of the city into the countryside very quickly. Cycling is a great way to explore the area and to make you appreciate the hills and valleys of PA! I did my second sprint triathlon last year and am hoping to do an Olympic distance event this year.
Tea!
It would be rude not to include this! A cup of tea makes everything better!
